Banner Fixings & Accessories

Choosing the right banner fixings is important for keeping your banner securely installed and helping to prolong its life.

We offer a range of practical banner accessories including bungee ball ties, elasticated bungee cord, 6mm rope and cable ties, giving you different options depending on where and how your banner is being displayed.

For outdoor banners in particular, we generally recommend an elasticated fixing such as bungee ties or bungee cord. The flexibility allows some movement in windy conditions, helping to reduce the stress placed on your banner and its eyelets.

Bungee Ball Ties

Bungee Ball Ties are one of the easiest and most effective ways to secure a banner.

The elasticated loop passes through the banner eyelet and around a suitable fixing point, allowing the banner a small amount of movement rather than holding it completely rigid.

This flexibility helps absorb some of the forces created by wind, reducing stress on the eyelets and helping to protect your banner.

Bungee Ball Ties are particularly useful for attaching banners to:

  • Railings
  • Fences
  • Heras fencing
  • Posts
  • Frames
  • Exhibition structures
  • Suitable outdoor fixing points

Please note: Bungee Ball Ties may be supplied in black or another colour rather than the white version pictured. Product images are for illustrative purposes only.

Bungee Cord

Our elasticated bungee cord provides a flexible solution for securing larger banners and banners where individual ball ties aren't suitable.

The cord consists of an elasticated core protected by a nylon covering. At full stretch, the cord can approximately double its original length.

The flexibility of bungee cord allows it to absorb some of the movement and stress caused by wind. This reduces the amount of force transferred directly to the banner's eyelets and can help prolong the life of an outdoor banner.

Bungee cord is particularly useful when securing banners around frames, railings, fencing and other suitable structures.

How to Order Bungee Cord

Bungee cord is sold by length.

Simply select the number of metres you require when placing your order.

6mm Banner Rope

Our 6mm rope provides a simple and versatile method of securing banners to suitable fixing points.

Rope can be particularly useful where the banner needs to be tied between posts, railings or other structures and allows you to cut and tie the fixing to suit the installation.

How to Order Banner Rope

Rope is priced per linear metre.

For example, if you require 5 metres of rope, simply enter a quantity of 5 when ordering.

Cable Ties

Cable ties provide a quick, simple and cost-effective way of securing a banner.

They're particularly useful for temporary installations and situations where the banner is being attached to fencing, railings or similar structures.

However, we don't generally recommend cable ties as the first choice for larger outdoor banners in exposed locations.

Unlike bungee ties and elasticated cord, cable ties have virtually no flexibility. This means movement caused by wind can transfer more force directly to the banner's eyelets, potentially increasing the risk of damage.

For outdoor banners exposed to wind, an elasticated fixing such as Bungee Ball Ties or Bungee Cord will often be the better solution.

Our cable ties measure approximately 30cm in length and are supplied in packs of 25.

Which Banner Fixing Should I Choose?

The best fixing depends on the banner, its location and the structure you're attaching it to.

Bungee Ball Ties – Excellent all-round choice for outdoor banners. Quick to install and elasticated to help reduce stress on the eyelets.

Bungee Cord – Ideal for larger banners and installations where continuous flexible fixing is useful.

6mm Rope – A simple and versatile option for tying banners between suitable posts, railings and structures.

Cable Ties – Quick and inexpensive for temporary or sheltered installations, but less suitable for exposed outdoor banners because they don't provide any flexibility.

Help Your Outdoor Banner Last Longer

Correct installation can make a significant difference to the lifespan of an outdoor banner.

Wind creates considerable forces on large banner surfaces. If a banner is fixed completely rigidly, much of this force can be transferred directly to the eyelets and edges of the material.

Using suitable elasticated banner fixings allows a degree of movement and helps absorb some of these forces.

Always ensure the structure you're attaching your banner to is suitable and secure, and regularly inspect outdoor banners and their fixings for signs of wear or damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to secure an outdoor banner?

For many outdoor applications, we recommend elasticated fixings such as Bungee Ball Ties or Bungee Cord. Their flexibility helps absorb movement caused by wind and reduces stress on the banner's eyelets.

Are bungee ties better than cable ties for banners?

For many outdoor banners, yes. Bungee ties have some flexibility, whereas cable ties hold the banner more rigidly. The elasticity of a bungee fixing can help reduce stress on the eyelets in windy conditions.

Can I attach a banner to Heras fencing?

Yes. Bungee Ball Ties and Bungee Cord can provide practical solutions for attaching suitable banners to Heras fencing.

How much bungee cord should I order?

Bungee cord is ordered by length. Measure the fixing arrangement for your installation and order the required number of metres.

How is the 6mm rope sold?

Our 6mm rope is sold by the linear metre. If you require 5 metres, for example, order a quantity of 5.

How many cable ties are supplied?

Our cable ties are approximately 30cm long and supplied in packs of 25.

Will banner fixings prevent wind damage?

No fixing can guarantee that a banner won't be damaged in severe weather. Correct installation and appropriate flexible fixings can help reduce stress, but outdoor banners should always be monitored and removed if weather conditions make continued use unsafe.
