Product Description
Custom Printed Crest Flags
Create an eye-catching promotional display with our Custom Printed Crest Flags. Their distinctive curved shape, impressive height and large printed area make them an excellent choice for forecourts, business premises, exhibitions, events, retail promotions and outdoor advertising.
Available in four sizes from Small to Extra Large, each Crest Flag is custom printed onto premium 117gsm Knitted Polyester using dye-sublimation printing for vibrant colours and excellent image reproduction.
Our standard single-sided Crest Flags achieve approximately 80–90% show-through on the reverse, allowing your branding to remain clearly visible when viewed from either direction.
Lightweight, portable and easy to assemble, Crest Flags are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use when paired with an appropriate base.
Why Choose a Crest Flag?
Crest Flags combine height, movement and highly visible custom graphics to help attract attention to your business, promotion or event.
Their curved profile keeps the fabric tensioned and creates a large printable surface for your logo, branding and promotional message.
They're particularly effective in locations where you need to be noticed from a distance, including:
- Forecourts
- Car dealerships
- Retail premises
- Business entrances
- Showrooms
- Exhibitions
- Trade shows
- Sporting events
- Festivals
- Charity events
- Property developments
- Hospitality venues
- Schools and universities
- Product launches
- Promotional campaigns
High-Quality Dye-Sublimation Printing
Each Crest Flag is printed onto 117gsm Knitted Polyester using a professional dye-sublimation printing process.
Specialist inks and heat are used to fix the colour into the polyester fibres, creating vibrant graphics while retaining the lightweight characteristics of the fabric.
Our standard single-sided graphics provide approximately 80–90% image show-through on the reverse.
The design on the reverse will therefore be visible but mirrored.

Front-Facing Orientation
As standard, our single-sided Crest Flag artwork templates position the pole and base on the left-hand side of the front-facing graphic.
If you would prefer the pole and base on the right-hand side, the template shapes can be flipped horizontally when preparing the artwork.
Only the template shape should be flipped – not the actual flag design.
This gives you flexibility when positioning flags alongside entrances, pathways, forecourts or other displays.
Double-Sided Crest Flags
A double-sided Crest Flag option is available where you need correctly orientated artwork on both sides of the display.
Double-sided flags are manufactured from:
- Two printed Knitted Polyester graphics
- One blockout membrane positioned between them
All three layers are stitched together and supplied as one complete flag graphic.
The blockout layer prevents one design showing through to the opposite face, allowing both sides to display correctly.
Important Information About Double-Sided Flags
Double-sided flags are heavier than standard single-sided graphics.
Our standard flag bases are not intended to support the additional weight of double-sided flags. For this reason, flag bases are not covered by our warranty when used with double-sided graphics.
Please consider the intended location and installation carefully before ordering a double-sided Crest Flag.
Choosing the Correct Flag Base
Crest Flag bases should be selected according to:
- The size of flag
- Whether it will be used indoors or outdoors
- The type of ground or surface
- The intended location
Different fixing options are available for hard and soft surfaces.
Choosing an appropriate base is particularly important for outdoor installations.
If you're unsure which base is suitable for your Crest Flag, please contact us before ordering and we'll be happy to advise.
Crest Flags for Forecourts & Business Premises
Crest Flags are particularly effective as forecourt advertising flags because their height and movement help attract attention from passing pedestrians and vehicles.
They can be used to highlight:
- Special offers
- Sales events
- New products
- Business entrances
- Vehicle promotions
- Seasonal campaigns
- Open days
- Brand awareness
Using several flags together can create an especially strong visual presence around a forecourt, entrance or promotional area.
Wind & Weather Conditions
Our Crest Flags are suitable for outdoor use when correctly assembled with an appropriate base and are rated up to Beaufort Force 4 – approximately 13–18mph.
Flags should be dismantled when wind speeds exceed this recommended limit or during other adverse weather conditions.
Heavy rain combined with strong winds can increase the weight of the wet fabric and place additional strain on the pole and base.
Always monitor weather conditions when using flags outdoors.
Positioning Your Crest Flag
Correct positioning can help protect both the flag graphic and pole system.
Ensure that the fabric cannot:
- Catch or snag on its own pole
- Rub against buildings
- Catch on trees or vegetation
- Strike nearby objects
- Interfere with adjacent flags
When using several flags together, leave sufficient distance between them to allow each graphic to move freely.
Caring for Your Crest Flag
Outdoor flags are naturally exposed to sunlight, pollution and changing weather conditions.
Over time, UV exposure can cause fading and deterioration of the fabric, while airborne pollution may cause white and lighter areas to become grey or discoloured.
Crest Flag graphics can be washed in a domestic washing machine on a 30°C wash without detergent.
Always allow the flag to dry completely before folding and storing it.
Taking your flag down during poor weather and storing it correctly when not in use can help extend its useful life.
How Long Will a Crest Flag Last?
The lifespan of a flag depends heavily on:
- Weather conditions
- Exposure to sunlight
- Location
- Wind
- Hours of use
- How carefully it is stored
As a realistic guide, the maximum lifespan of a regularly used outdoor flag is approximately six months.
Flags used occasionally and stored correctly between uses may last considerably longer, while flags permanently exposed to challenging outdoor conditions may wear more quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Crest Flag?
A Crest Flag is a tall, curved promotional flag designed to display custom printed branding and advertising. Its distinctive shape provides a large visible graphic area while helping the flag retain its shape.
Are Crest Flags suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. They are suitable for indoor and outdoor use when installed with an appropriate base and are rated up to Beaufort Force 4 (13–18mph).
What sizes are available?
Crest Flags are available in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, with overall heights ranging from approximately 2.56m to 5.14m.
Are Crest Flags good for forecourt advertising?
Yes. Their height, movement and large printed area make Crest Flags particularly effective for car dealerships, retail forecourts, business entrances and roadside promotions.
Can my own logo be printed on the flag?
Yes. Crest Flags are custom printed using your supplied artwork, allowing you to incorporate your logo, brand colours, promotional message and other graphics.
Are Crest Flags printed on both sides?
Standard Crest Flags are produced from a single printed layer of Knitted Polyester with approximately 80–90% show-through onto the reverse. The image on the reverse therefore appears mirrored.
A separate double-sided option is also available.
Can I have different artwork on each side?
Yes, using the double-sided construction consisting of two printed fabric graphics separated by a blockout membrane.
Does a Crest Flag include a base?
Base options are available according to the size of flag and intended installation. Make sure you select a base suitable for both the flag size and surface where it will be used.
Can Crest Flags be washed?
Yes. The fabric can be washed in a domestic washing machine at 30°C without detergent. Always allow the flag to dry completely before storing it.
How long will a Crest Flag last outside?
This depends on climate, location and hours of flying. As a realistic maximum, a regularly used outdoor flag should be expected to last approximately six months, although careful use and storage can extend its working life.
Should I leave a Crest Flag outside in strong winds?
No. The flag should be dismantled when winds exceed Beaufort Force 4 (13–18mph) or whenever weather conditions make continued use inappropriate.
